Möglingen, May 22nd, 2019 -- A Bavarian insurance company, the Versicherungskammer Bayern, is breaking new ground in customer service. Together with Unymira, a business unit of USU, a German public insurer successfully completed a project using Alexa as a customer service channel. The Versicherungskammer Bayern won the Knowledge Award presented at the USU World 2019 conference in Berlin for the implementation of its innovative customer service concept.
Unymira is honoring the insurance company with the award for new, inspiring and successful ideas in the practical application of its knowledge management platform. "With our Knowledge Management Award, we’ve worked together with customers and partners to recognize those using our technology in new and visionary ways," says USU Managing Director Harald Huber, commenting on the motives for the competition.
"With this skill, we want to add a new sustainable support channel to our established knowledge management technology," explains Isabella Martorell Nassl, Head of Operations at the Group Insurance Chamber. "It was important for us to add value from the customer perspective by focusing even more on their needs and providing target group-oriented information during the development and design phase."

Usually when it comes to crunch time some leaders will scrap training in order to tighten the belt. The downside of this is the cycle it creates. Because some employers see training as a flexible benefit, employee development is often taken off the table. When employees don’t feel valued it becomes easy to see a revolving door. The constant need to hire goes up which ultimately means costs go up; we know that hiring costs more than retaining the right people.
