News : BB&T Car Loan Arm Opening Tempe Center
Sept 29, 2014 — BB&T Corp.’s car loan subsidiary is opening a call center in Tempe.
The center will employ 300 workers and is the latest in a number call center and back office projects landing in the Phoenix area.
BB&T’s Regional Acceptance Corp. has leased 40,000 square feet at the Papago Technology Center at Washington Street and Priest Drive.
Greenville, North Carolina-based RAC is national auto financing company. It is also an subsidiary of BB&T bank.
Regional Acceptance will take occupancy of the space next March. The company already has a location in Mesa.
"This lease is another good example of a new office user to the market being drawn to a centrally located building that allows them to easily attract new employees," said Taute.
Phoenix has historically been a call center and back office hub and seeing that trend arise again in the post-recession economy.
