Oct 9, 2014 -- Brazilian consumers association Proteste claims that the new General Regulations of Consumer Rights in Telecommunications Services have reduced complaints against operators, reports Teletime.
According to the organisation, of the 95 complaints filed this year regarding cancellations, 85 came in before the end of June. This means that in the three months since the regulations entered into force on 08 July, the association has received ten complaints.
Among the new rules that came into effect is one concerning automatic cancellation of services, which can be done over the internet (from March 2015) or via a call centre; a callback to the consumer if the call drops during the service call; a 30-day deadline for the company to respond to questions by consumers on bills; validity of pre-paid credit; and promotional offers to the entire customer base.
