News : British Call Centre Evacuated After Chemical Leak Drama
South Yorkshire, UK, June 16, 2015 -- A British call centre has been evacuated after multiple staff started suffering from nausea and eye irritation in a suspected chemical leak.
Workers at the Capita call centre in Manvers Industrial Estate, South Yorkshire were evacuated shortly shortly after 7.50pm.
Fire crews were called in from around the local area after reports of multiple people falling ill.
A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "The building has been evacuated and fire officers are now inside monitoring the air quality to ascertain a cause.
"We are working with our partners in the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, who are checking people over at the scene. Currently nobody has been taken to hospital."
