News : BT Adds 35 Jobs to its Belfast Call Centre
Belfast, Northern Ireland, September, 2015 -- Telecommunications firm BT is to create 35 new jobs at its contact centre in Belfast.
The new roles will be based in BT Flex, in Riverside Tower in the city and will include full-time and part-time customer service advisor roles.
The centre first opened in 2012 to provide extra capacity to different parts of the company quickly and help enhance the service BT provides to its customers.
The new jobs bring total staff numbers to 447.
BT Networks Northern Ireland managing director Alex Crossan Managing Director said the new positions came during "an exciting time at BT".
"Innovation is happening right across our business, from fibre broadband to sports broadcasting and cloud computing. To align with this innovation, BT continues to invest in its customer service, and we’re delighted that Northern Ireland will benefit from this expansion, given the competition that exists across the globe for foreign direct investment." he said.
Invest Northern Ireland chief executive Alastair Hamilton welcomed the announcement.
"Invest NI provided financial support when the BT Flex centre was created and this further expansion is a strong endorsement, not only of its success, but of the skills, work ethic and customer service focus of the Northern Ireland workforce," he said.
BT said it planned to complete the recruitment process for the roles by November.
