News : Caleris Expects to Add 70 More Jobs Locally
May 13, 2014 -- A growing business in Marshalltown is expected to add 70 more jobs this year, according to the company's president.
Caleris, which operates a technology support inbound call center in the Max Building at 11. E. Church St., currently has more than 100 employees.
Rick Grewell, president of the West Des Moines-based company, said he expects to add 70 more jobs in Marshalltown this year.
It's not guaranteed, but I think it's going to happen," Grewell said. "Our hiring has gone above expectations. We expect to keep right on growing."
Grewell said they have new 15 employees starting this week in Marshalltown.
Caleris is also entering into a new jobs training agreement with Iowa Valley Community College District which will train 118 current and future employees. The agreement utilizes state funds for the training. Grewell said training is a big part of their business as many employees will get six weeks of classroom training before starting their regular work.
"Being able to have the state help us really allows us to bring more jobs here," Grewell said.
He said Caleris has been pleased with its Marshalltown location, which opened in 2013, including the workforce pool.
"Marshalltown has been great," Grewell said. "We really like the people there. We've got good, quality employees."
