News : Call Center on Coast Expected to Create 600 Jobs
Myrtle Beach, SC, Oct 13, 2014 -- Gov. Nikki Haley is visiting the South Carolina coast for the ribbon cutting at a new call center expected to create more than 600 jobs.
Area media outlets report the dedication is set Monday for StarTek's new call center in the Carolina Forest area just west of the Intracoastal Waterway.
It's one of 15 call centers the company operates worldwide.
The company has committed to invest in Horry County by the end of 2016.
The company is receiving money from the local economic development corporation. But if StarTek fails to meet the goal of creating 615 jobs or complete the investment by the end of 2016, some of the incentive money will have to be returned.
