News : Call Center to Bring 600 Jobs to Fort Mill
ROCK HILL, SC, Oct 23, 2013 -- Good news just in time for the holiday season for folks looking for a job.
A new business that specializes in process outsourcing is set to open a call center next month in Fort Mill, bringing 600 jobs to the area.
Sutherland Global Services hopes to create 600 jobs over the next three years in Fort Mill, which is good news for job seekers like Veronica Williams.
"You just need to apply, keep on applying and don't give up because there are jobs out here," said Williams.
Williams is currently unemployed and recently moved to South Carolina to find a job.
When she heard Sutherland Global Services was hosting a job fair at the Baxter M. Hood Center in Rock Hill, Williams didn't hesitate to put in an application.
Company representatives say hiring for the 600 entry to mid-level jobs will begin next month.
There will also be management positions available.
Williams says she's excited that more jobs are coming to South Carolina, which borders Charlotte's metro area, seeing she won't have to go far to find work.
"A lot of jobs are in the Charlotte area and it'd be good if they bring some of them here where people live and work," she said.
If you missed the job fair, company representatives say there will be another one in the next couple of weeks or you can apply online.
