News : Call Center to Close After Getting State Funds
Richmond, VA, USA, March 21, 2016 -- A Winchester call center that recently received state funds is shutting down.
The Winchester Star reports that TalentWise is closing its operations and notice has been filed with the state that 83 people will lose their jobs. The company earlier had plans to hire up to 300 people for its Winchester facility.
TalentWise conducts background checks among other work. It merged with another company earlier this year.
TalentWise received money for hiring and training 101 employees. It is under no obligation to return the money, according to a state official.
