News : Call Center to Open at Triad Mall, Employ 500

Burlington, NC, USA, Nov 1, 2017 -- Holly Hill Mall in Burlington will become home to a new call center employing about 500 people.

PRA Group Inc. (NASDAQ: PRAA), a Norfolk-based delinquent loan collection company, announced it would open two centers in Burlington and Henderson, Nevada, adding a total of "up to 800 additional call center employees."

David Morton, owner of Holly Hill Mall, confirmed to the Times-News that PRA Group would occupy the former Hamrick's space of 43,000 square feet with about 500 workers. He said he'd been working with the company for several months and it was "the hardest deal I have ever done."

PRA Group said in a statement that it chose Burlington and the Nevada site as the result of a site selection study to find locations in "alternative markets with the best combination of talent, cost, and competitive conditions in the U.S."

"We are currently hiring in both localities and look forward to having our new collectors ready for the first quarter of 2018 when cash collections are seasonally strong," said Kevin Stevenson, president and chief executive officer of PRA Group.
