News : Call Centre for Defence Pensioners Launched
Kochi, India, March 17, 2016 -- The Defence Accounts Department has set up a ‘pension call centre’ for the benefit of defence pensioners.
The toll-free number of the call centre is 1800-180-5321.
Speaking after inaugurating the first e-Pension Adalat in the country and the 38th Defence Pension Adalat at the Naval Base, Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) Shobhana Joshi said steps were being taken to improve the sanctioning and distribution of pension, such as incorporation of the ‘suvigya’ automated window on the CDA (Pensions) website for pensioners to check their entitlements with ease.

The digital adalat, at which pension sanctioning authorities and banks come together with their database, offers speedy redressal of grievances of Defence Pensioners, including Defence Civilians, living in the State. The adalat is organised by the PCDA (Navy and Coast Guard), Mumbai.
The adalat got a good response, with around 300 ex-servicemen registering prior to its commencement. Two days’ of spot registration is expected to cover the majority of pensioners.
