News : Call Centre Pair Can Save You Cash on Energy Bills
Jan 8, 2015 -- Two call centre workers have joined forces to launch their own business to help people save cash on energy bills.
Kieran Lowe and Anthony Heaton started U Compare at St Bede’s Chambers in Jarrow in October.
Their success has even allowed them to recruit six people with hopes to offer more jobs in the near future.
Mr Lowe, said: "It has been hard work and has taken a lot of planning to get to where we are now, but it’s all been worth it.
"Both myself and Anthony have worked in call centres – that’s where we became friends, working on a campaign – but decided while it was something that we both loved, we just didn’t really like where we were working, so decided to branch out on our own.
"It has been hard in that we have to deal with payroll, job adverts and making sure the right people were recruited and that we were creating an atmosphere where people were happy to come to work."
Staff at U Compare are able to tailor an energy plan to suit their customers’ needs and save them money after finding out about their energy usage
Plans are also in the pipeline to install software to monitor customers’ energy consumption to help them reduce their bills further.
Mr Lowe, said: "Hopefully the business will go on to bigger and better things, and by next year hopefully we will be able to double our workforce."
