News : Called Back: DialAmerica Center Reopens After Closing in 2015

Ocala, FL, USA, July, 2019 -- After closing its Ocala call center more than four years ago, DialAmerica is back — and at the same location.

The return comes with about 100 full-time and part-time jobs. The services provided at the center will focus on the health insurance industry.

For Celia Thomas, the call center manager, it’s a return to familiar surroundings: Thomas worked at the center before it closed in 2015 after nearly 20 years of operations.

"It really feels like we’re going home. I feel like Ocala is welcoming DialAmerica back home," said Thomas.

The center is up and running at 3300 SW 34th Ave. and is gearing up for the healthcare insurance industry’s open enrollment period in the fall. Before reopening the 7,000-square-foot center, the company spent about $200,000 on renovations.

While the busiest season for the industry is during open enrollment, the center will operate year-round servicing inbound calls, Thomas said.

DialAmerica offers call center services for many industries, including education, financial services and energy. With the return of the Ocala call center, the company now operates 19 centers across the country.

Established in 1957, DialAmerica contracts with other companies to provide customer service and support.

Because of the nature of the work, the employees at the Ocala call center must earn a health insurance agent license. The company will pay for the training and license, Thomas said.

Ocala is home to several large call centers, including Sitel Group and Ansafone Contact Centers.
