News : Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Figi's in Marshfield
Marshfield, WI, USA, Sept 28, 2015 -- There was a ribbon cutting at the new call center at Figi's in Marshfield Monday.
"We are very excited to be opening our in site call center. It was outsourced about two years ago. We're excited to bring it back," said Sheri Dick, the vice president of marketing.
This new call center will bring a lot of new jobs to the area.
"We really were looking at utilizing the workforce here in Marshfield, Wisconsin and in Central Wisconsin. No one can service our customer better than the employees and the people who live and work in Central Wisconsin," Dick said.
The new employees will take calls from customers. Company leaders say about 60 percent of orders come in through their contact centers
"They want to talk to somebody on the phone. They want some help shopping. They want to know that there's somebody on the other end of that phone that cares about what they're doing," Dick said.
Figi's is looking to hire 200 seasonal and full time workers.
"That's going to be a significant revenue increase that's going to circle through this community's economy," said Scott Larson, the executive director of the Marshfield area Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Larson said job openings at Figi's reflect an employment trend in the Marshfield area.
"I think it says that Marshfield is an area where business is growing. There are opportunities here and that our businesses are looking to fill those opportunities," said Larson.
