Bacoor City, Cavite, Philippines, March, 2021 -- Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla has ordered the temporary closure of a call center in Barangay Molino here over an outbreak of Covid-19.
In a post on social media, Mercado-Revilla cited seven positive cases and one death as of March 11, 2021 for the one-week shutdown of Teleperformance in the city.
The call center will be closed from March 11 to 18, 2021 for disinfection.
Its staff have also been ordered to undergo a 14-day home quarantine to prevent the outbreak from spreading.
In Tagaytay City, Mayor Agnes Tolentino has called for tightened safety measures amid a reported surge in Covid-19 cases in the city.
Among the measures were:
– Curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting March 13, 2021 for those 15 years old and below and 65 years old and above.
– 14-day quarantine for returning overseas Filipinos.
– 30-percent limit to capacity of all places of worship.
– Stop to Visita Iglesia (church visitations) during this year’s Holy Week.
– Restriction on number of guests in weddings and baptisms.
– Temporary closure of gymnasiums, fitness gyms, spas, wellness clinics, barbershops and driving schools.
– Temporary ban on ambulant vending.
– Temporary ban on basketball, volleyball and skateboarding.
Active Covid-19 cases in Tagaytay City had risen by 51, with 318 total cases now, 260 recoveries and 7 deaths.
In Bacoor and Tagaytay, the local governments have begun their vaccine rollouts for healthcare workers at Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital.
