News : CCAM Appoints Awards Chairperson and Chief Judge
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, May 9, 2016 -- The Contact Centre Association of Malaysia (CCAM) has appointed Ms Yvonne Ng as Chairperson for the Awards Committee and Dr. Alan G. Downe as Chief Judge for the 2016 National Awards.
The announcement was made this afternoon by CCAM President Byron Fernandez. Ms Ng is the Founder and Managing Director of ANBIZ Sdn Bhd and Dr Downe is with the Faculty of Management at Multimedia University in Cyberjaya.
"It’s a good feeling to be able to place the Awards process in the hands of two such capable individuals as Yvonne and Alan," said Mr Fernandez when contacted in his office. "Both are widely respected within the industry for their expertise and integrity, and both have extensive experience with the National Awards. The Executive Committee could not have made a better choice."
As Chair of the Awards Committee, Ms Ng will be responsible for the Awards structure and administration, including the establishment of Awards categories, eligibility standards, ethical conduct and communication with participants. "It’s a big responsibility, an important responsibility," said Ms Ng. "The National Awards are this industry’s shining moment, our opportunity to recognize the best of the best.

As Chief Judge, Dr. Downe will be responsible for heading the team of international and domestic judges and overseeing all adjudicative practices. Judging will include a Round One desktop review of written submissions provided by nominees for both corporate and individual awards. Shortlisted finalists will then meet, in Round Two, with judges chosen for their expertise and background in the field. "As a leading academic authority on contact centre strategy, operations and talent, Alan is uniquely positioned to take on the job of ensuring high standards and impartiality in the judging process," said Mr. Fernandez. "He has no direct affiliations or business relations with corporate players in the industry, and we know from his work over fifteen years with the Association that he
is passionate about objectivity and procedural fairness."
Ms. Ng has been a member of the CCAM Executive Committee since 2011 and chaired the Awards Committee in 2012 and 2014. Dr. Downe joined the Executive Committee as an appointed member a year ago, but has served on the judging panel in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2010, 2011, 2015 and as Chief Judge in 2006.
