News : Celebrity Chief Insists Call Centre Will Remain in UK
Nov 28, 2014 -- The boss of Celebrity has insisted that its call centre will remain in the UK and that it will not follow sister brand Royal Caribbean in basing it in Guatemala.
Speaking to TTG in London this week, president and chief executive Michael Bayley said the line had invested in its UK call centre, and that he was keen to keep it here in order to maintain strong relationships with agents and customers.
"It allows us to focus on building the right relationships with our trade partners," he said.
"If you’re going to be in a premium space, you need to ensure that relationships are meaningful, either with travel agents or customers. You’re most likely to succeed if you maintain your call centre in the country that you’re operating in."

Jo Rzymowska, managing director, Celebrity Cruises, UK and Ireland added that the call centre staff also regularly contributed to the development of the brand.
"We are seeing the knowledge and engagement of the staff and their focus on the brand. There is a lot that they contribute, and we’ve been liaising with them about Eclipse, with a new policy where if there is an issue, they will respond within 30 minutes."
