News : CenturyLink Call Center Set to Close Later This Year
March 20, 2014 -- Eighty employees at the CenturyLink call center in North Logan have been notified that the location is set to close later this year, a representative has confirmed.
Jackie Lalor, spokeswoman for the communications company, said the call center would shut its doors on June 20. The center opened in April 2006.
CenturyLink has offered the 80 employees positions at a Boise call center and encouraged them to apply for other positions within the company, Lalor said.
"As CenturyLink continues to remain competitive, we are always reviewing ... our cost structure, and we want to share best practices to improve customer service and achieve operational efficiencies," Lalor said.
There are several CenturyLink technicians in the Logan-area, but they will not be affected by the announcement.
"The company is doing well, and we want to share best practices and operational efficiency," Lalor said. "We’ve had a great workforce, and after a lot of consideration CenturyLink decided it would close."
The CenturyLink spokesman said the North Logan call center answer calls for consumer customers across the nation.
