Charlotte, NC, USA, Feb 4, 40202 -- Almost 400 Charlotte employees of a call center operation will lose their jobs this spring, according to a notice filed with the state Commerce Department.
It’s the largest layoff in Charlotte in over half a year.
Continuum Global Solutions has notified the N.C. Department of Commerce it is closing its 2745 Whitehall Park Drive center near Tryon and Arrowood Roads in the Steele Creek area, and 383 workers will be laid off April 30. Details were spelled out in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed last week with the state.
"After a comprehensive evaluation of our business and client needs, we have decided to discontinue operations at our Charlotte facility. We value our employees and are making every effort to relocate them to other sites in the region,’ the company said in a statement to the Observer.
