News : Cheshire to Handle Cumbria's Fire Emergency Calls
May 23, 2014 -- A new call centre in Warrington will now deal with Cumbria's 999 emergency fire service calls.
The Fire Brigades Union were heavily opposed to the move. However, the Cumbria County Council have gone ahead with plans.
Fire calls have been handled at Cheshire's call centre whilst the new building is completed. The opening has been delayed due to IT problems.
