Coimbatore, India, Oct 30, 2015 -- The Coimbatore Child Line established a contact centre in Pollachi. Pollachi municipal chairman V. Krishna Kumar inaugurated the centre.
Child line with the phone number 1098 has been functioning in Coimbatore for the last 16 years.

In the last six months, 30 children – victims of sexual abuse, child marriage, begging children and child labourers were rescued in Pollachi by Child Line and provided by rehabilitation. The centre will create awareness about child rights, and rehabilitation of children in distress at Pollachi bus stand and its surrounding areas.
