Chittagong, Bangladesh, Feb 7, 2019 -- Chittagong Metropolitan Police has launched a round-the-clock helpline service for expatriates to help them seek any information or lodge any complaint.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Mahabubur Rahman formally inaugurated the helpline service, +8801769694230, at a views-exchange meeting with the Oman chapter of the Chittagong Association at the CMP Dampara headquarters on Thursday.
Expatriates can also lodge complaints in the message option on the Facebook page of the CMP. The expatriates and residents of 16 police stations in the city can avail the service.

Further the expatriates can directly seek help via Whatsapp and Viber applications.
The CMP Commissioner hoped that the service will help police deliver better services to expatriates. He also sought cooperation from the CMP to make the initiative a success.
While discussing the many problems faced by expatriates, the association leaders at the meeting said that expatriates face harassment at entry points of the port city in the name of frisking or checking. They can seek necessary cooperation from the CMP chief in this regard.
The CMP commissioner directed the concerned police stations not to harass expatriates in the name of frisking without specific information.
