News : Claro Scores Best in Data Quality Measurements
June 2, 2014 -- Claro Brasil was the only operator to fulfill data service requirements between November 2013 and January 2014, according to the sixth cycle of monitoring to improve mobile services by regulator Anatel.
TIM Brasil and Vivo also met the targets for 3G services. Oi was the only operator below target on both 2G and 3G data services, with a clear reduction in quality, according to the report. In the three months evaluated, Claro got the maximum score of 98.78 percent availability, Vivo reached 97 percent, TIM was at 94.32 percent, and Oi did not exceed 93.83 percent. The target set by Anatel is 98 percent.
When the networks are separated, Claro got up to 98.75 percent in 2G and 99.36 percent in 3G, Vivo reached 96.90 percent in 2G and 98.80 percent in 3G, TIM obtained 93.87 percent in 2G and 99.11 percent in 3G, and Oi obtained 93.98 percent in 2G and 90.91 percent in 3G. All operators met the goal for the maximum fall-out rate on the data network, which may not exceed 5 percent.
In voice services, all four companies also surpassed the target of 95 percent call set-up success. Even with the highest quality network, Claro was the operator that received the most complaints on Anatel's call centre, with 38 complaints per 1,000 users.
