News : Class Will Offer Tips on How to Get Call Center Jobs
Oct 24, 2013 -- With a call-center job fair approaching in early November, the Idaho Department of Labor is sponsoring a class Oct. 29 to help job seekers prepare for and pass the online assessments used by call center employers.
"Getting Hired at a Call Center" is scheduled at the department’s Boise office, 219 W. Main St. The class will be conducted by former call center human resources director Rhonda Holland, who will discuss call center culture, hiring practices, testing and the types of assessments commonly used by these employers.
The job fair will feature T-Mobile, CenturyLink, Citi, DIRECTV, Xerox, Wells Fargo and Teleperformance. Combined, the seven companies want to hire up to 1,000 full-time customer service representatives at between $9 and $13.56 an hour, plus benefits and bonuses. Job seekers are encouraged to bring their résumés to the job fair and be prepared to speak with company representatives.
