News : Comcast Completes Regional HQ Renovation in St. Paul
St. Paul’s, MN, USA, May 14, 2015 -- Comcast Corp. has finished renovating its 700-employee Twin Cities regional headquarters on downtown St. Paul's West Bank Flats.
The cable TV, internet and phone provider announced the renovations of the space, at 10 River Park Plaza, in early 2014.
Features of the project include:
700 new ergonomically designed workstations
A 27-percent reduction in energy consumption through efficiency redesigns
Open, collaborative office meeting spaces
Wellness rooms on every floor
Nearly 100 miles of new wiring and information technology infrastructure
Increased capacity for the company’s regional Comcast University training facility
"The redesign of our local headquarters, call center and training facilities reflects our commitment to improving the environment, experiences and technology for serving our customers and supporting our valued employees," Comcast Twin Cities Regional Vice President Jeff Freyer said in a news release.
The company considered moving out of the building, but eventually signed a new 125,000-square-foot lease for three floors, downsizing from about 164,000 square feet on four floors.
A billing call center in the office serves Comcast customers across the western half of the United States.
Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos. US Inc. was the general contractor. The architect was Gromatzky Dupree & Associates, based in Dallas.
