News : Comcast Hiring for New Spokane Call Center
Spokane, WA, USA, June 9, 2015 -- Comcast is bringing nearly 700 new jobs to Spokane in the coming years, and is placing a special focus on hiring veterans and their families.
Across Spokane County the unemployment rate for veterans is higher than the general population, and Comcast is hoping to help with that. The company is building a new call center in Spokane that will bring in nearly 700 new jobs.
"One of the really cool things about that is our focus on veterans. In fact, Comcast and NBC Universal just committed to hiring 10,000 veterans across the United States over the next two years," Comcast Spokane General Manager Ken Watts said.
Watts, a veteran himself, says many of those jobs are coming to Spokane.
"About 15-percent of the new jobs at the call center will be filled by veterans or family members of veterans," he said.
