News : Con Call Centre Busted in Vejalpur
Ahmedabad, India, Aug, 2017 -- Vejalpur police busted an illegal call centre operating at Shrinandnagar-5 in Vejalpur. Police arrested four persons and have recovered laptops, mobile phones, CPUs and monitors from the flat. In another incident, Gujarat University police arrested Ketan Gathiya, a payment processor from the Vijay Complex area, who was absconding in another con call centre case.

According to Vejalpur police sources, they raided a flat at Shrinandnagar in Vejalpur and arrested Mohsinkhan Sikligar of Danilimda, Wasim Qureshi, Kamalkant Rathod and Viditkumar Saini, all residents of the same flat and hailing from Sirohi in Rajasthan.
Police sub-insepctor J N Parmar said the accused were running the call centre for about two months were duping US citizens by offering them non-existent loans and extracting money on the pretext of a service charge.
"They would also pose as officials of the Internal Revenue Service of the US government and extract money from US citizens for imaginary tax disputes," added Parmar.
