News : Convergys to Add 200 to 400 New Jobs
Watertown, MA Jan 13, 2015 -- Convergys says it's adding 200 to 400 new jobs at its call center in Watertown over the next couple of months.
The center, formally known as Stream, is looking for customer service representatives.
According to Jessica Tupper, who oversees recruiting at five Convergys locations, including Watertown, said an existing client is expanding its operations at the center.
She declined to name the client, but said it's a satellite-related business.
Tupper said new workers will handle inbound calls and will be involved in "upselling" to get customers to purchase other products or services.
The new hires would help Convergys to rebound to about 700 jobs in Watertown after losing some business last year.
"And there's the potential for ongoing after that point, as well," said Tupper.
The company says it lined up about 40 interested applicants.
The call center has an 800-person capacity.
