News : Covered California Signs Temporary Call Center Deal
Oct 1, 2014 -- Covered California has signed a contract for peak-time call center in south Sacramento that’s expected to hire 500 people in the next 30 days.
InSync Consulting Services in Roseville is partnering with Virginia-based Faneuil on the deal. Faneuil just signed an agreement with the Washington Health Benefit Exchange for similar services as these programs gear up for the start of open enrollment Nov. 15.
"It’s a ramp-up center for peak demand times," said Covered California spokesman James Scullary. "That’s one of the lessons we learned the first year, so we are adding temporary staffing capacity to answer questions and enroll consumers."
InSync is a national provider of IT staffing and consulting services. The Roseville office is managed by Tim Coxen, an entrepreneur who helped found and grow a successful local nurse staffing business called Valley Healthcare Systems. The call center will be located off Interstate 5 in the Greenhaven area of Sacramento, he said.
Jobs at the new call center will pay $12 an hour to entry-level workers, $12.50 to entry-level workers who speak a second language besides English and $14 to $16 an hour for experienced team leaders. A few supervisory roles are left, too.
