Deogarh, India, July 17, 2020 -- While the people of Odisha and the state government are fighting against coronavirus, the Deogarh District COVID Call Centre has contributed a bit towards the same with tireless efforts by the employees.
The Deogarh district administration also informed about the same through their Twitter handle.
Reportedly, since the last four months, the District COVID Call Centre with 10 Dedicated phones is running without any break that is reaching out to the stakeholders. Collecting feedback, following up, sharing information, motivating & guiding, creating awareness, and many more are carried out here.
Earlier, 40 employees were working in four shifts and now only 20 staff are working dedicatedly in two shifts (10 am to 1 pm & 3 pm to 6 pm). Around 1000 calls are being made by the staff every day where they interact with the people who are coming from other areas and are under quarantine. The returnees are being enquired about their present health status and other complications and the data is compiled.
Besides, the call centre employees also collect information on health and related issues from the Nodal officer of the temporary medical camps, Aganwadi workers, ASHA workers, health officials, panchayat representatives, self-help groups, forest protections samiti members, village development samiti members, teachers, COVID management committee members, workers of different voluntary organisations.
Apart from inquiring about the health status, the medical treatment provided in the TMCs, and the quality of food served to the people undergoing quarantine, the health status of their family members are being ascertained and they are also intimated about their family member’s health condition at the institutional facility.
Besides, people from various corners of the district are also providing information about the condition of coronavirus infection in their respective areas through the call centre.
This apart, information is being collected from OPD, medicine shops about the people suffering from cold, cough, & fever, and the call centre staff also contact such persons from more updates on their health condition.
After the day-long effort, all the data is being scrutinized and reviewed by the District Collector every day and necessary actions are initiated.
The zeal of the Deogarh District COVID Call Centre employees in the management of the coronavirus situation has helped the district administration to fight the global pandemic effectively and curb the deadly COVID-19 infection.
