News : DHS Launches Local Call Center, 11 New Jobs
Klamath Falls, OR, USA, Nov, 2018 -- The Department of Human Services rolled out its "Self Sufficiency Program" call center in Klamath Falls, creating 11 new jobs.
Carlos J. Soriano, branch manager with DHS, said the call center will handle clients of DHS to answer a host of questions and help with eligibility applications.
"We have eight eligibility workers, two support staff and myself as the department manager," Soriano said last week. "We’ll handle applications for assistance and answer questions from across the state.
Klamath Falls and Astoria were the first two to open rural call centers with DHS. In the coming year, Tillamook, Milton-Freewater, Hermiston and Baker city will be added, creating about 160 new jobs in rural Oregon.
