News : Dollar Aims to Cash in by Switching its HQ
Nottingham, UK, Aug 5, 2015 -- A consumer finance firm is investing in its Nottingham headquarters.
Non-bank financial services company Dollar Financial UK, which runs The Money Shop and Payday UK, employs around 400 people at its base at Castle Marina in Nottingham, where it occupies a number of the units in Castlebridge Office Village, Kirtley Drive.
The company will move its call centre, collections, arrears, finance, HR and marketing staff over to a neighbouring building in Castle Marina, with some IT staff remaining in one of the units in Kirtley Drive.
CEO Stuart Howard is keen to have his staff working under one roof. He expects work on the new building to be completed by January 2016.
A total of 260 branches of The Money Shop have been closed across the UK since January, representing a loss of 45 per cent of its total workforce.
Dollar Financial, which also runs as high-end pawnbrokers Suttons & Robertsons and offers check cashing, money transfer and gold buying services, is also integrating its online operator Payday UK and high-street lender The Money Shop.
And as part of his plans to make the business more viable, pre-paid debit cards and foreign exchange services have been re-introduced.
