Mumbai, India, March 8, 2016 -- The BEST has asked citizens to submit only suggestions and feedback on its newly launched Facebook page and not complaints or grievances. However, commuters and a BEST committee member feel the transport undertaking should accept complaints and grievances on the page.
The BEST has provided an alternative tollfree number to register complaints. BEST committee member Kedar Hombalkar said the number was "unreachable" most of the time.
Another regular commuter, requesting anonymity, said he too often found the helpline number busy. TOI too found the number busy between 7am and 4pm on Monday and could finally get through only at 4.30pm.
The person who received the call claimed the helpline was "working fine". He said the line stays busy throughout the day—7am to 10pm. "There is only one line and one official attending the phone," he said.
