News : Dozens of Jobs Up for Grabs in BPO Job Fair
Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, April 10, 2015 -- Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies are set to open dozens of job opportunities here at the job fair organized by Vice-Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting on April 29 to 30 at Marquee Mall.
The event dubbed "Career Expo 2015" is in cooperation with the Philippine Call Center Institute (PCCI) and will feature companies like Sykes, Teletech, Accenture and Convergys among others.
"This is our response to the growing need for more jobs for our people. This is also in time for new graduates to avail of possible employment with these companies some of which have operations here in Angeles City and inside Clark Freeport," Vega-Cabigting said.
Vega-Cabigting said that Angeles City is a center for job opportunities not just for its own people but also for job seekers coming from neighboring municipalities. She added that there is a need to provide possible employment through job fairs to give enough opportunities for jobseekers.
The job fair is expecting to cater to at least 1,000 applicants from in and around the city. Vega-Cabigting said that the event is open to all Angeleños at least 18 years old or high school graduates.
"But majority of the call centers are looking for those who at least second year college level with at least 72 units with no back subjects and at least with average English communication skills," said Vega-Cabigting.
The companies, which will be participating in the job hiring, are from the National Capital Region and Angeles City (local call centers).
Vega-Cabigting said that wages expected of a typical call center agent include an entry level of P12,000, not to mention the commissions and other incentives given by call center companies.
