News : Drinks Group Serves Up 25 Support Centre Jobs
April 25, 2014 -- The Dublin-based C&C Group is creating 25 jobs in south Belfast when it opens a commercial business support centre on Boucher Road.
Invest NI is paying for a portion of the investment by the company, which already employs 50 staff in Belfast.
The new call centre facility will provide jobs across a range of professional support services.
Tom McCusker, managing director of C&C Group Ireland and Tennent's NI, said: "We're delighted this important strategic investment is being made in Northern Ireland.
"Belfast was among a number of potential locations in Britain and the Republic of Ireland that were evaluated by the group.
"But Belfast emerged as the most suitable and best cost location because of the availability of skilled people, its record of low staff turnover rates, a robust infrastructure particularly in terms of telecommunications, and the support package from Invest NI especially for employee training, which is an important focus for the group." Enterprise trade and investment minister Arlene Foster said: "C&C Group must be applauded for creating much needed jobs and for expanding its Belfast operation."
Invest NI offered C&C Group funds towards its investment, including training support.
Meanwhile Warrenpoint-based CTS Projects has created nine new jobs following an investment in the expansion of its premises and diversification into a new line of business.
The company is a construction technology specialist focusing on providing heating systems and energy efficiency solutions for the residential, new build and retrofit markets.
It recently bought a 70-acre site in Rostrevor on which to plant, harvest and grow willow as a renewable energy source.
Founded in 2006 by Connaire McGreevy, the firm employs 50 people and exports its products to the private market and public sector directed social housing schemes including Clanmil housing.
Mr McGreevy said an increasing demand for its services necessitated the expansion, and he praised Danske Bank for its backing.
