News : Dubai Police’s ‘901’ Call Centre Becomes Popular
Dubai, UAE, Jan 23, 2015 -- The Dubai Police call centre (901) affiliated to the operations room received 95,650 calls last year against 64,808 calls in 2013 and 50,688 in 2012.
Captain Mohammed Ali Obaid, Director of the call centre, said the centre has achieved one of its objectives in reducing calls and burden on the emergency hotline number (999).
After three years of its establishment, 901 has become a comprehensive call centre receiving people’s calls and documents to complete transactions through smart phones, he said, and added that the centre is providing 111 services now.
He said the response to calls made to the number increased to 94.45 per cent last year from 92.30 per cent in 2013.
Captain Ali Obaid said the employees are trained to deal with the public, give first aid advices and customer service.
