News : DVLA Strike Causing Disruption to Callers to Swansea Offices
Oct 15, 2014 -- Callers to Swansea’s DVLA headquarters reported problems after around 40 percent of workers staged strike action.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union took part in the 24-hour walkout over pay. The union said just four of the 72 staff at the Morriston site’s call centre turned up to work.
Unhappy callers contacted the Post after being told changes to vehicle logbooks - otherwise known as V5C - would not be able to be processed because of the action.
The trade union’s leaders said a "triple whammy" of job cuts, job losses and increased pension contributions had hit its members.
