News : East Kilbride Tech Firm Office Closure Could Cost 30 Jobs
Glasgow, Scotland, April 20, 2016 -- The East Kilbride office of telephony services provider Azzurri Communications could close with the loss of up to 30 jobs.
Rival firm Maintel Holdings announced this month it had entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Scottish EE reseller Azzurri Communications, with chief executive Eddie Buxton reported as saying that the East Kilbride office would be closed "fairly swiftly".
A spokesperson for Azzurri admitted the company was in consultation with the office about a proposed closure, but added: "It would be inappropriate to comment until that consultation period is complete. We can, however, confirm that this is unrelated to the proposed acquisition by Maintel."

The reverse takeover move by Maintel is considered strategic to bolster its cloud-based service offering. The combined company will have 750 staff and Mr Buxton is reported to have indicated that the enlarged firm was targeting cost saving measures of £4.6m by 2017.
A spokesman for Maintel said the company was unable to comment on the East Kilbride closure until the deal completes, which is expected to come around May 6.
