Dec 15, 2014 -- Last week the magical figure of £1 million was passed as generous supporters made donations in return for their colourful and beautiful letter requests.
This years’ campaign started on 1 October and for the first time BT have been the point of contact for telephone requests with all calls being routed to volunteers in the BT Contact Centre at Broadmeadow Place Enniskillen.
Catherine Nuttall, Head of Northern Ireland Fundraising, NSPCC said: "Letter from Santa is one of the NSPCC’s most important campaigns and BT’s support is making a huge contribution. Christmas is a magical time of year for most children, but sadly there are some for whom it can be an incredibly difficult and lonely time. By requesting a Letter from Santa and making a small donation, you could bring a smile to a child’s face this Christmas and provide help for vulnerable children across the UK, ensuring there is someone for them to turn to when they need advice and support, this Christmas and beyond."
Andy Hamill, MyDonate Service Manager BT, said; "Since the beginning of the campaign way back at the start of October we increased our volunteering time and flexibility of shifts to ensure that we succeeded in our goal of answering calls at all times seven days a week and up to thirteen hours a day. The campaign total is now well over £1million and though the majority of fulfilment is online, we’ve handled thousands of calls in Enniskillen and we haven’t finished yet."
Every £5 raised by Letter from Santa will help ChildLine be there whenever a child seeks help either online or by phone.
