News : Ericsson India Will Ramp Up Hiring to Drive Business
Kolkata, India, Dec 10, 2015 -- Sweden's Ericsson, a networks vendor, is stepping up recruitment to reinforce the leadership teams that will drive its focus businesses in India, a top company executive told ET.
Ericsson India's focus businesses will include cloud and IP, operations support systems (OSS), business support systems (BSS) functions, TV & media and the new industry & society business vertical that is slated to pitch for smart city infrastructure management projects.
"Ericsson India is looking at hiring over 100 resources (read: managers across levels) in the first quarter of calendar 2016 to strengthen the organisation, especially in the new and targeted business areas," the company's Vice President (HR) Sameer Khanna, told ET.
Apart from channelising internal resources, the company may also go for similar scale hiring in the second and third quarters next year, but details are not known yet.
"As business grows, the company will re-deploy existing talent into the new areas as well as add new talent for which we will hire based on the new competence framework," said Paolo Colella, Ericsson's India Region head.
The upcoming hirings at Ericsson India are in step with the Swedish telecom gear maker's efforts to equip leadership teams across global units with new competencies to ring in the company's transformation from a pure networks infrastructure provider to an information & communications technology (ICT) solutions provider.
Colella said the "the new leadership framework is being implemented (in Ericsson India) to strengthen the organisation across the levels".
