May 14, 2014 -- The N.C. Division of Employment Security has launched a new employer call center to help employers with questions ranging from taxes to claims to fraud.
"This will greatly assist the employers in getting the answers they need in a timely manner," said Dale Folwell, assistant secretary of the Division of Employment Security. "No matter the question, we have a dedicated group of employees there to assist them."
DES employees are trained with an emphasis on focusing on the first five minutes of each call and assisting the caller with any question they may have. Callers who require additional information are given direct contact to departments that can provide requested information.
Employer call center agents are trained as universal agents in unemployment insurance knowledge and are able to provide assistance on a variety of unemployment insurance questions, including remote tax filing, the State Information Data Exchange System and tax and claims questions.
