News : Fire Controlled in Al Ataba Call Center: Civil Protection
Cairo, Egypt, Aug 13, 2015 -- Cairo’s civil protection forces managed to contain a fire broke out in El-Ataba call center Thursday morning, Youm7 reported.
The fire broke out in the upper four levels of the eight-storey building in downtown Cairo leaving no casualties among civilians while a police officer was injured due to suffocation.
According to preliminary investigation, short circuit has caused the fire, Al Ahram reported. About eight fire vehicles were dispatched to the site to distinguish the fire.
Minister of Communications Khaled Negm and Head of Telecom Egypt were present at the fire site. Negm ordered the formation of a technical committee to carry out the inventory of damages resulting from the fire.
Cairo metro traffic will not be affected by the fire and has started on time at 5:30 this morning, Cairo governor Galal Saeed said.
The civil protection forces are working to restore the power supply in some areas surrounding the fire site said Saeed, adding that electricity was cut off as a precautionary measure.
In july, a fire broke out in a 3-storey furniture factory in an industrial zone in al-Obour city north of Cairo killing 25 labors and wounding 25 others.
