News : Food Wholesaler Booker Signs IT Outsourcing Deal with Getronics
Dec 24, 2014 -- UK food wholesaler Booker has renewed its IT services contract with Getronics, signing a five-year deal.
Booker has been a customer of the service provider for 25 years, with IT services including a service desk, on-site desktop support, application services, hosting and infrastructure services being provided.
Booker Group comprises Booker Wholesale, Makro, Booker Direct, Classic Drinks, Ritter Courivaud, Chef Direct and Booker India, offering branded and private-label goods to customers, including independent convenience stores, grocers, pubs and restaurants.
The renewal sees Getronics continue to support Booker’s warehouse management systems and other strategic applications, which support the branches and distribution centres. Historically, Getronics has been responsible for enhancing Booker’s bespoke warehouse management applications, as well as ensuring processes are suited to today’s mobile workforce.
Booker said it required a partner that could deliver a high-quality, efficient service, whilst ensuring a continued focus on automation and innovation, which it says Getronics can deliver.
Mark Cook, Group CEO at Getronics said: "This extension is testament to the high quality of services Getronics has previously delivered. Today, we are focused on helping Booker to both increase the effectiveness of its operation and grow its customer base."
