News : Frontier Communications to Cut 280 Positions at Henrietta Call Center
Rochester, NY, USA, May 1, 2019 -- Fontier Communications announced plans to eliminate 280 positions at its Henrietta call center.
"We are reallocating work from a technical support center in Henrietta... to other Frontier resources," Javier Mendoza, Frontier's vice president for corporate communications and external affair, said in a statement.

Effective July 31, the non-union positions will be eliminated, Mendoza said. It's unclear if the impacted employees were offered other opportunities within the company.
"Frontier makes decisions on the size of our workforce to adapt to the realities of our competitive and ever-changing industry," Mendoza said of the facility at 3441 West Henrietta Road.
He continued, "We take such actions with sensitivity and respect and have met with affected employees, who are all eligible for severance and medical benefits."
Mendoza said, "We expect to remain a significant business presence in the Rochester area and remain committed to the New York communities we serve.
