News : Frontier to Add 100 Jobs Locally
Rochester, NY, Oct 2, 2014 -- Frontier Communications is adding 100 jobs in Rochester. That according to company CEO Maggie Wilderotter who tells WXXI News they will be call center jobs added to the Frontier facility on Jefferson Road in Henrietta.
Wilderotter says Frontier does have three other call centers around the country, but officials felt it made sense to put the additional jobs here, partly because of the kind of workforce that is available in the area.
"Since we have such great talent in this community, especially technical talent, coming out of the University of Rochester, RIT, St. John's, a number of the schools here, they're terrific, so we started our first team supporting broadband in the center that we have here in Rochester."
Wilderotter also says that Frontier recently made a big acquisition of customer accounts in Connecticut, so it also helps that the call center in Rochester won't be too far away.
The new call center jobs will support a premium tech support service that Frontier offers which Wilderotter says has seen strong demand. They hope to fill the jobs by the end of the year.
