News : Frontier Touts Call Center Hiring
New Haven, CT, USA, May 18, 2015 -- Frontier Communications has hired more than 300 new employees since it took over from AT&T last October as Connecticut’s dominant telecommunications provider, company executives told city officials during a tour of one of its call centers.
In addition to the call center in Frontier’s Eastern Region headquarters on Orange Street, the other one is located in New London, said Kira Howell, regional vice president of marketing and communications for the Stamford-based telecommunications company.
The company is still looking hire another dozen call center workers for Connecticut, said Ken Arndt, president of Frontier’s East Region, of which Connecticut is part. Specifically, Frontier is looking to hire call center employees who can speak both Spanish and English, Arndt said.
"We have Spanish speakers in all of our call centers," he said.

The call center employees handle customer billing questions and new service orders, said Joseph Ferraiolo, Frontier’s area general manager for New Haven County. A different group of Frontier employees handles calls related to service outages and other technical problems, Ferraiolo said.
Call center employees start at $10 an hour. The average hourly wage for a new call center representative is $22.65, which includes base and commission, said Liz Grey Godbout, a company spokeswoman
Employees are eligible for overtime and eligible for salary increases every 6 months, Godbout said.
