News : Gateshead Contact Centre Spark Ecommerce Snapped Up by National Delivery Firm
Gateshead, UK, Dec, 2018 -- Gateshead contact centre Spark Ecommerce Group has been snapped up by a Royal Mail delivery rival in an undisclosed deal.
The Spark Ecommerce Group has provided out-source call centre and fulfilment services for 20 years, building up a 200-strong workforce.
Now the group that works from a 170,000 sqft base in Follingsby Park, has caught the attention of postal delivery company Whistl.
The delivery business has activities in business mail, doordrop media, fulfilment and parcels, and has now announced the Spark Ecommerce Group will be rebranded under the Whistl name following its acquisition.
The Spark group consists of Spark Response, providers of contact centre and fulfilment services to some of the UK’s brands.
The group is made up of a consortium of investors led by London based chairman Barry Stiefel and includes Spark directors Peter Slee and Noel Lambert.
The acquisition of Spark Ecommerce Group is the second acquisition Whistl has made in the fulfilment arena and Spark Ecommerce Group in the future will be rebranded Whistl Fulfilment.
The company will continue to operate from the North East and the existing operations and leadership team will remain in place with Peter Slee, as managing director, together with his co-director Noel Lambert.
