News : Greenville Firm to Lay Off 318 Contact Center Employees
Greenville, NC, USA, March, 2019 -- Concentrix CVG Corp. plans to lay off up to 318 employees in Greenville, NC, according to a notice with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
The company plans to permanently close one of the client programs located at the Greenville Contact Center facility.
Concentrix, a business services company and a subsidiary of Synnex Corp., is planning for the closure to occur on May 21.
The company will maintain a presence in the area through a significant number of positions on other programs.

All current impacted employees who are willing and able to meet the established requirements will be given positions on alternate programs within the Greenville facility.
Synnex is an information technology supply chain services company that offers services to original equipment manufacturers, software publishers and reseller customers.
In February, the company announced its plan to lay off 173 workers at its contact center facility in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"This is due to a change in business strategy," said company spokeswoman Brooke Beiting of the layoffs in Charlotte. "Our first priority has been to share this news with our employees. We remain committed to Charlotte and are working with our clients to bring new business to the site."
North Carolina has seen 1,555 employees affected through WARN notices in 2019, with 525 coming from Mecklenburg County, 318 from Pitt County and 310 from Durham County.
The notice was filed to pursuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which must be filed 60 days in advance of a plant closing that affects more than 50 employees in a 30-day period or a mass layoff of at least 500 employees or between 50 to 499 employees if they make up at least one-third of the employer’s workforce.
