News : Hamilton Call Center StarTek Hiring at Job Fair
Hamilton, OH, Aug 4, 2015 -- Another chance to apply at call center company StarTek Inc., which opened this year in downtown Hamilton at OhioMeansJobs-Butler County.
Colorado-based StarTek provides business process outsourcing services such as customer care, sales support and order processing in the United States, the Philippines, Canada and Honduras.
StarTek is seeking about 200 temporary workers for a short-term project, said Melissa O’Brien, business services liaison for the government run job center, OhioMeansJobs-Butler.
Those who are hired and become top performers will have the opportunity to earn permanent positions at StarTek, O’Brien said.
In total, StarTek is expected to create approximately 682 new jobs in Hamilton once operations are fully ramped up. When plans were first announced in February that StarTek would open this year, it was believed to be the city’s single biggest announcement for new job creation in at least a decade, according to Hamilton’s economic development department.
The company opened in July in the first phase of renovated office space at the former Elder-Beerman building at 150 High St., which was previously vacant. Plans are for the business services company to add more employees to the location as construction work is completed, Mike Dingeldein, executive director of the CORE Fund, previously told Journal-News.
