News : Haptik Inc. Raises Funds from Kalaari Capital
Mumbai, Sept 18, 2014 -- Haptik Inc., a start-up that offers customer support services over a mobile-based chat platform, said on Thursday that it has raised funding from Kalaari Capital.
"We are excited to welcome Kalaari Capital to the Haptik family with an investment," Haptik posted on its official Twitter handle.
Aakrit Vaish, Haptik’s co-founder, confirmed the investment and said that the funds will be used for scaling up the team of engineers, product development, engineering and advertising and marketing.
The company was set up in 2013 and provides customer support services for companies that are listed on its platform. Currently, there are no official tie-ups with any company.
"Haptik messaging concierge solution could evolve into a full blown mobile personal assistant across products, services and geographies" said Rajesh Raju, managing director at Kalaari Capital in a statement, who will be a part of the company’s board.
Haptik currently employs call centre workers who help users with complaints, but going forward the app will increasingly use automation to respond to user requests and complaints.
Vaish is a former senior executive at Flurry India, a mobile analytics and advertising firm that was acquired by Yahoo Inc. this year.
With this investment, Rajesh Raju, managing director at Kalaari Capital, will be a part of the Haptik’s board.
